Fisting 101

By: rmx_test

If you have a vagina or if you've seen lesbian porn, I'm sure you've run into the concept of "fisting." If it is something that intrigues or confuses you, or maybe it even scares you as something you're not sure you'd want to try because you don't know what it is or how it's done safely. Here you will find out the basics of what you need to know about fisting.

What is it?

First, we'll start with what it's not. It isn't just shoving your fist in someone's vagina or butt. However, it is using your hand (or fist) to penetrate your partner. It requires a lot of patience and lubrication, but it can be an intimate and satisfying way of exploring your sexuality with your partner.

How to do it safely.

It was mentioned earlier, but in order to fist successfully and safely, you need a lot of lubrication to create an accurate level of lubrication between the hand and the area your fist is going in. Make sure you aren't using a lubricant that has a numbing agent in it. While there are many anal lubes, the numbing agent may not allow for the receiver to notice when something is going wrong.

Take it slowly. Since your hand is (probably) larger than a penis, you'll want to make sure the area you're penetrating is properly stretched and relaxed so that it can accommodate your hand without any pain or tearing. With this, make sure you and your partner are communicating clearly so that there's a clear understanding of when it feels good and when it's starting to hurt.

Add fingers in gradually. You're not going to be able to insert your whole fist in at the start. Your partner might not even be able to accommodate your entire hand, which is perfectly normal! Start with one finger and add in another finger whenever the receiver can comfortably handle what is penetrated, add in another finger, massaging and stretching until you can get your four fingers in without there being pain. Then bring those four fingertips together to create a space to hold the thumb, so you can have a tapered point to ease in your thumb and get past the knuckles.

When fisting, make sure your hands are clean, your nails are trimmed, without any hangnails!, and free of nail polish so you don't accidentally scratch your partner or get any foreign objects where there shouldn't be.

After orgasm, slowly take out your hand after using your other hand to massage the outside of the vagina so that the muscles can relax when you're taking out your hand.

The biggest takeaways for fisting are to go slow, use lube (and then more lube), and make sure you and your partner are communicating as much as possible. For more sex and relationship advice, contact us.
